Yeedi vs. Little One: A Fur-flying Showdown

Vacuuming is a never-ending battle in my house. I live in a single-story home with medium-pile carpet, a few rugs, and a bit of hardwood. And then there’s my dog, Little One—a Corgi/Pomeranian mix who weighs roughly 15 pounds but sheds like a full-grown husky. She’s all hair to be honest. If you know, you know.

Over the years, I’ve tried several robotic vacuums, including a few Roombas. They worked fine at first, but none survived the endless shedding and chaos my home produces. So when the Yeedi C12 Combo (on Amazon) first entered the scene, I was skeptical. Could it tackle pet hair, carpets, and the debris of a furbaby-loving household?

Let’s put it to the test.

A Quick Look at Yeedi

Before diving into this fur-flying showdown, let’s talk about Yeedi as a brand. Known for reasonably priced yet feature-rich robotic vacuums, Yeedi delivers performance without the hefty price tag of brands like iRobot and others.

The Yeedi C12 Combo (on Amazon) is marketed as a cleaning duo: a robotic vacuum for daily upkeep and a handheld vacuum for spot cleaning.

⚠️ Note: Despite the “Combo” name, it doesn’t feature a mop built into the robotic vacuum directly. Instead, there is a mop attachment to the handle vacuum that is also attached. If you want a robotic vacuum with a built in mop, check out the Yeedi M12 series.

With 10,000 Pa suction power, Yeedi promises to handle pet hair, carpets, and more. But does it live up to the hype?

Unboxing the Yeedi C12 Combo

Unboxing the Yeedi C12 Combo, I was immediately impressed by the thoughtful packaging. Both vacuums felt sturdy, and the handheld model—while heavier than expected—hinted at serious suction power.

Right out of the box, both vacuums arrived pre-charged. From there, setup was seamless: I synced the robotic vacuum to the Yeedi app, and within minutes, it began mapping my home.

The app itself is intuitive and packed with features like room-specific cleaning and adjustable suction. Naturally, I sent it straight to the living room—home to the highest concentration of fur.

One thing to note that might surprise customers is on how large the base station is. You’ll need a dedicated corner to house this beefy system.

The Living Room Test

Before testing, I had let my dog run rampant with her shedding, to the point where I hadn’t vacuumed the house in over a week. The Yeedi C12 Combo didn’t just hold its own—it exceeded my expectations. In 40 minutes, it cleaned about 400 square feet, tackling medium-pile carpet, rugs, and hardwood floor with ease.

The dustbin told the real story: it was over half full of fur and dirt after just one run. Little One’s shedding was no match for Yeedi’s powerful suction.

What impressed me the most was the vacuum’s ability to:

  • Auto-adjust suction on carpets, ensuring deep cleaning while conserving battery on hard floors.
  • Navigate around furniture, like those barstools you see above, and scattered books and toys without getting stuck.

A Few Challenges

Nothing’s perfect, and Yeedi struggled with a few obstacles:

  • Rope-like items, like an apron tie, could cause hiccups.
  • Tight corners occasionally required manual adjustment.
  • Miniature toys like my daughter’s mini tea cups and random dominoes on the ground are a robotic vacuum’s worst nightmare.

That said, it avoided common pitfalls like low-sitting shelves, rugs, and barstool legs that tripped up my old Roomba.

Suction Power: The Numbers Game

Yeedi claims the C12 Combo delivers 10,000 Pa suction power—far above competitors:

⚠️ Note: I can’t verify if the suction power is accurate (I’m slightly skeptical due to the stark contrast from its competition). But even still, at 75% suction, it pulled fur and dirt embedded deep in my carpet.

The handheld vacuum, which is larger and heavier than what I would have expected, packs a punch at 95 AW (air watts). Most notably though, the handheld version was much loved by my daughter who tried her hand at spot cleaning.

Self-cleaning: A Time-saver

With past robotic vacuums, emptying the dustbin after every run was a chore, and often forgotten. The self-cleaning base station of the Yeedi C12 Combo changes that entirely. After each cycle, the vacuum empties its bin into the base station’s larger container, which I only need to empty occasionally.

The process is mess-free, and the app provides alerts when filters need attention. This feature alone makes the Yeedi feel like a partner in cleaning, not just another task to manage.
