In this post, I outline how to use Siri with Apple Maps. Siri has solid integration with the Maps App. With using Siri, you can get directions, start navigation mode, and get estimated time of arrival—all with simple commands. This ability is very handy while you’re driving, as Siri also knows the current traffic conditions and can alert you to route updates.

FAQs
Can Siri use Google Maps?
Yes. Apple added Siri support for Google Maps in iOS 13. When giving Siri a maps command, just add the phrase “using Google Maps” for the Voice Assistant to use this provider.
For example: “Hey Siri, get me directions from San Francisco to Santa Barbara using Google Maps.”
Can Siri open Google Maps?
Yes. Siri can open Apps by using Apps Commands. For instance, try saying, “hey Siri, open Google Maps.”
Keeping Up With Siri
Wondering how to get the most out of your iPhone and other Apple devices? You’ve come to the right place. In this series, Keeping Up With Siri, I outline Apple’s Siri Guide of over 300 available commands you can say and ask Siri to do. This post specifically covers Siri commands for the Maps App to make traveling even easier.
Navigation
The commands listed below help you to start and continue engaging with the Navigation mode via Maps.
“Hey Siri, give me directions home”
“Hey Siri, get me directions to Yosemite”
“Hey Siri, directions to my dad’s work”
“Hey Siri, get me directions from San Francisco to Santa Barbara”
“Hey Siri, give me walking directions to Emily’s”
“Hey Siri, what’s my next turn?”
“Hey Siri, are we there yet?”
“Hey Siri, what’s my ETA?”
“Hey Siri, find a gas station”
Maps
You may find that sometimes you don’t need step-by-step directions. Use the below commands to use Maps as an actual map instead of for directions.
“Hey Siri, show me the Golden Gate Bridge”
“Hey Siri, show me a map of 1 Infinite Loop Cupertino California”
Local Businesses
Did you know Apple Maps has information about local shops around you? Just ask her. With the below commands, you can use Siri to search for establishments—all while getting a map and a list of directions quickly.
“Hey Siri, find coffee near me”
“Hey Siri, find the best nail salon”
“Hey Siri, where is the closest Apple Store?”
“Hey Siri, good Mexican restaurants around here”
Traffic
Siri has access to real-time traffic information, as well. Use the below commands to see how long it will take to travel to a specific location.
“Hey Siri, traffic to work”
“Hey Siri, traffic to San Francisco Airport”
“Hey Siri, how is the traffic around downtown San Francisco”
With the above Siri maps commands, you’re able to easily start navigation and get directions, all without manually clicking through to the Apple Maps App. What’s more, Siri also provides real-time traffic alerts and ETAs on the fly. But if you’re still grappling with interesting things to say or ask Siri beyond using maps, head on over to the series Keeping Up With Siri Commands.
I tried turning off so many things in siri to make it so when I say “hey siri what is my next turn” it will only say that. but what I hear is maps saying… “your next…” and it gets cut off by.. “here is what I found on the web…
I try so many different questions but the update 16 has stopped it. it has got me lost. I can not see my phone directions up top of phone well and at times working I can not hear what it says so I ask it again and I can not get right answer.
also I can not stand the answer when it does work ” you will be at your turn in 50 feet” how is that ever a good answer ?? if I am asking what is my turn I do not know and its saying I will be there and I got lost and had to waste 1/2 hour and was late because I got on a road that had no way to turn around … it seems maps and siri is getting worse and its sad because I like how it works with phone well. please help apple fix these issues.
I went on help and an apple employee told me to go back from 16 and then it deleted whole phone when person said it would keep all my info like Mac did when you go back. it was bad. no one called me back either like they said they would to help me figure it out. I do not like out of country people who do not understand things right to help me. they need to know how to communicate so we do not mess our phone up.
When I ask Siri what’s my ETA now I get the number of remaining minutes, not my time of arrival.
